Product Discovery
A short, focused study of your users, your numbers and your constraints that ends in a clear scope, a clickable prototype and an honest estimate.
In short
Most software goes over budget for one reason: nobody agreed on what it was supposed to do. Discovery fixes that early and cheaply. We sit with the people who will use the product, walk through how the work happens today and find the few features that matter most. You leave with a scope everyone has signed off, a prototype you can put in front of customers and an estimate built from real detail rather than guesswork.
Process
How the work runs, step by step
- 01
Meet the people who will use the product, on the shop floor, at the counter or on a call
- 02
Map how the work happens today, including the workarounds nobody wrote down
- 03
Agree the problem in one sentence and the handful of features that solve it
- 04
Prototype the key screens and test them with real users
- 05
Check the risky technical parts, such as payments, integrations and data, before they surprise us
- 06
Hand over a written scope, a release plan and an estimate you can hold us to
What you can expect
Why Univolute
- 01
The same people who run discovery go on to build the product, so nothing is lost in translation
- 02
We design for the people who will actually use the software, including those who rarely use any
- 03
Prototypes, not documents: you see and click the product before committing to it
- 04
We'll tell you if an off-the-shelf tool would serve you better than custom software
- 05
Discovery is useful on its own. You own everything it produces, whoever builds next

Software in your customers' language
Translating the labels is the easy part. Fonts, numbers, sorting, documents and everyday vocabulary decide whether a Marathi or Hindi product really works.
Web app or mobile app?
Web apps, progressive web apps and native apps each suit different products. A side-by-side comparison and five questions that usually settle the choice.
QR ordering for independent restaurants
What we learned building a QR ordering platform that runs every day in a working bistro: what guests need, what staff need and what has to stay on the server.
Common questions
Something else on your mind? Ask us directly.
How long does discovery take?
Usually two to four weeks, depending on how many people and processes are involved. Small, well-understood products can be scoped faster.
Do we have to build with you afterwards?
No. The scope, prototype and estimate are yours to take to any team. We'd be glad to build it, but discovery is designed to stand on its own.
We already know what we want. Do we still need this?
Possibly not the full version. If you already have clear requirements, we run a shorter review that checks them, fills the gaps and turns them into a build plan.
